At St.Marys, the St.Marys River widens into a basin that offers good anchorage. The holding ground is a relative thin layer of mud over sand. The St.Marys River has an average depth btw. 20 to 30 feet. Outside the main channel the average anchoring depth is 10+ feet.
Tide fluctuations are around 6 feet.

St.Marys offers a public dock for short term docking and emergency. There is also a public dinghy dock.
For longer stays either anchor out or use the Marina
There is a strong "current" in the St.Marys River in conjunction with the tides. The current can be 5 to 6 knots.
This is also an area with a long fetch.
